When up & coming drum ‘n’ bass baddie ETHERÅ reached out to me for a photoshoot, my excitement was unparalleled. I’d been wanting to shoot her for a while, as I felt our aesthetics aligned synchronistically. She gave me free rein on the creative direction of the photos, citing that she wanted one to be the album cover for her new single, Obsessed. I took us to three locations- a quiet lightrail station bridge, an abandoned hospital, and Cheeseman Park. The lightrail bridge offered great natural lighting and dynamic composition, resulting in some of my favorite photos from the shoot. The hospital proved to be quite the adventure, with a plethora of strange noises prompting us to leave sooner than we’d originally intended. But it was the pavilion at Cheeseman Park that ended up giving us the cover. It was a fun creative endeavor, and she was a delight to photograph. It’s always rewarding beyond words to help fellow artists showcase their talents and follow their dreams.
