Devil’s Harvest

2025

Devil’s Harvest was one of the first concepts I dreamed up when I began this project, but it took years before I finally got the chance to bring it to life. A perfect collision of spooky-season witchcraft and my love for all things cannabis, this shoot was everything I wanted it to be and more. Allisa, Swan, and I ventured out to the South Platte River at Riverdale Regional Park, just off what is supposedly one of the most haunted roads in Colorado, Riverdale Road- a fitting setting for a little witchcraft of our own.
We started in the fading light of dusk, with Allisa surrounded by the witchy artifacts we’d each collected over the years from our own dabbling in the craft. As the sun disappeared, so did the feeling of familiarity. We shifted into darker, more mysterious imagery, playing with lanterns, shadows, and the natural darkness around us. And finally, we took things all the way into horror, drenching Allisa in blood for a series of Carrie-esque portraits.
We handmade the witch’s broom ourselves from a fallen tree branch, lavender, and twine, and brought together all of our collected curiosities to build the world around her. From start to finish, we had an incredible time experimenting, playing, and completely unleashing ourselves creatively in the space. After years of having this concept live in my head, finally watching Devil’s Harvest unfold from dusk to darkness to something beautifully macabre, and seeing all three of us walk away thrilled with what we created made this shoot especially magical.
