Khaos
2025
Khaos was the kind of shoot that reminded me why I love creating. Carter and I have known each other for years and had always talked about working together, so we were stoked to finally make something so magical. As two Black and queer individuals, we felt right at home — creatively and energetically — and it showed. I feel most alive when I have complete and total free rein to explore whatever chaotic, cinematic, or emotional ideas come to mind, so Carter and I were a natural and synchronistic creative pair. We started with minimalist portraiture for clean headshots before gradually ramping up into expressive chaos, flowing through a visual metamorphosis. The deeper we got, the more unhinged and expressive it became — from projections and LED lighting to cellophane, cling wrap, glitter, and whatever else I could get my hands on. We wanted it to feel like a visual journey through identity, duality, and liberation — telling a full story without words. Every chapter of the shoot unlocked something new, and by the end, we were fully submerged in the kind of beautiful mess that stains your soul (and your girlfriend’s shower).
